Falcon range cookers suit the big, character kitchens you find in older Inner West homes. Getting enough power safely to the spot where the range stands is the electrical part, and that's what we do.

Falcon is a British range cooker brand. Its cookers are freestanding units with two or more oven cavities, a cooktop on top and often a grill, in widths larger than a standard cooker gap. You can get them as all-electric with induction or ceramic cooktops, or dual fuel with gas burners over electric ovens.
In older terraces and Federation homes, the range often goes where an old fireplace or chimney breast used to be, or in an extended kitchen at the back. The cable to that spot can be long, and if there's an existing stove circuit it may be decades old. We look at the run from the switchboard to the range position as carefully as the cooker itself.
Blue Link Electrical is a licensed electrician based in Hurlstone Park (NSW Contractor Licence 332956C). We install Falcon cookers across the Inner West and Sydney. We install and wire the cooker you've bought, but we don't sell Falcon products and aren't a Falcon service agent; internal repairs go to the manufacturer's service network.
An induction Falcon combines an induction cooktop with multiple electric ovens, so its combined rating can be high. It will almost always need a dedicated, hard-wired circuit sized from the rating plate, and in some homes a switchboard or supply upgrade before it can go in. If your house is single-phase with an older supply, we check that the range plus your other big loads won't overload it.
A dual-fuel Falcon takes much of the load off the electrical side, as the burners run on gas, but the ovens still need a properly sized circuit. The gas connection and testing are licensed gasfitting work. If you're moving from gas to induction, the gasfitter caps the old gas point and we provide the new circuit.
Range positions at the back of an extended terrace can be far from the board. Cable size accounts for both the load and the distance.
Ageing rubber or early PVC cable to an old stove isn't reused for a modern range. See old wiring in terraces.
Behind the range at the height the manual specifies, so the cooker fits flush against the wall or in its alcove.
Reachable with the range in place, beside it rather than above the cooktop.
A new cooking circuit needs room and safety switch protection at the board.
1. Quote from the plan. We check the Falcon model's requirements, your switchboard and the route from the board to the range position, and quote any upgrades separately.
2. Run the circuit. We install a new dedicated circuit through roof, subfloor or wall, fit protection at the board and mount the isolator and connection point.
3. Connect and position. The range is connected with enough slack to pull it forward for servicing, then pushed back and levelled. Gasfitters connect the gas side for dual-fuel models.
4. Test and certify. We test the circuit to AS/NZS 3000, run each oven and cooking zone, and issue a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work.
Older homes with a small main supply can struggle when the range, air conditioning and hot water run together. We assess and advise on upgrades.
Cable or breaker undersized for the cooker. The cable must be upgraded, not just the breaker.
Can be wiring, moisture or an element fault. See oven tripping the safety switch.
If other parts work, it's usually an internal element or control fault for the manufacturer's service network.
Yes, electric and induction range cookers are hard-wired on their own circuit. Dual-fuel models also need a dedicated electrical connection for the ovens.
Often, once the builder has prepared the space. We bring a new circuit to that position and fit an accessible isolator.
No, that's a licensed gasfitter. We provide the electrical supply and connection.
If your board has ceramic fuses or no spare room, likely. We check before quoting.
