Some jobs reach past your switchboard to the network: a new or upgraded supply, moving a meter, replacing the consumer mains or the service fuse. In NSW, that work is done by Accredited Service Providers. Blue Link is not an Accredited Service Provider; we have level 1 and 2 work arranged through accredited partners, and we coordinate it with the job we do inside your property.
Ring 0421 772 661 and tell us what you are planning. We work mostly in the Inner West and across Sydney.
Level 1 work is on the network itself, such as poles and street mains. Level 2 work connects a property to the network: the service line, the service fuse, metering and connecting or disconnecting the supply. Everything after that point, such as the switchboard, circuits and power points, is work for a licensed electrical contractor like us.
Our guide What is a Level 2 electrician? explains the categories in more detail. This page covers how we handle jobs that need both.
These are the jobs where we most often bring in accredited partners:
A new board sometimes needs the meter or service fuse moved or replaced at the same time.
Adding an EV charger, induction cooking or other big loads can mean asking the network for more capacity.
Moving the meter box or the point of attachment during building work.
Making a supply safe for demolition or major works, then reconnecting it.
We look at the site, work out which parts need an Accredited Service Provider, and plan the order of work so the power is off for as short a time as practical. Network applications and timing are set by the distributor (Ausgrid across most of the Inner West), so we tell you what to expect rather than promising dates we don't control. Our own work is tested to AS/NZS 3000 and certified with a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work.
No. We are licensed electrical contractors (NSW 332956C). We have level 1 and 2 work arranged through accredited partners and coordinate it with our own work.
Metering and service-line work is restricted to Accredited Service Providers under NSW rules. We handle the work inside the property and coordinate the rest.
Depending on the job, applications go through the accredited partner or are prepared with our help. We explain the steps before work starts.
Yes. Most of these jobs are in the Inner West, on the Ausgrid network, and we also work across Sydney.
