Starlink kits are designed for self-setup, but two things often need an electrician: a power point where the router should live, and a tidy, weatherproof path for the cable from the dish into the building.
Ring 0421 772 661 with photos of where the dish will go and where you'd like the router. We'll quote in writing.
We're a licensed electrician, so our part is power and cable entry. That means installing a power point in the right spot, running and protecting the cable route inside the building, and sealing where the cable passes through a wall, eave or roof.
We don't sell Starlink, set up accounts, aim the dish or troubleshoot the service. Dish mounting should follow Starlink's own instructions and mounts, and anything to do with signal, the app or the subscription is handled through Starlink support.
Most people want the router somewhere central for good Wi-Fi, not wherever the nearest outlet happens to be.
Installed where the router or power supply will sit, such as a hallway cupboard, study or comms area.
A neat penetration through brick, weatherboard, eave or roof, sized for the cable and its connector, sealed against water and pests.
Through the roof space or wall cavities where access allows, with surface conduit where it doesn't.
UV-stable conduit or clips on exposed outdoor runs so the cable isn't flapping against the house.
If you want wired connections or better coverage, we can run ethernet to other rooms. See our ethernet cabling guide.
Decide where the dish will be mounted, with Starlink's app checking for obstructions, and where you want the router. Those two points define the cable route. Keep the supplied cable in one piece unless Starlink's documentation says otherwise; we plan the entry around it rather than cutting and rejoining it.
In Inner West terraces, the cable often enters through the roof space at the rear, then drops through an internal wall to a central room. In apartments, any penetration through common property or the building facade usually needs strata approval first, so check with your building manager before booking.
Once the power point and entry are complete, the new outlet is tested and you receive a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work for the electrical part of the job.
We handle the power point and cable entry. Mounting and aligning the dish follows Starlink's instructions, and service questions go to Starlink support.
Yes, through an eave or roof penetration that's properly sealed, or through a wall. We'll choose the route that keeps water out and the cable protected.
We don't recommend it. We plan the route to suit the supplied cable and coil any excess neatly.
Possibly, but drilling through common property or the facade usually needs strata approval. Check with your strata manager first.
Yes, by running ethernet to access points or other rooms. Our Wi-Fi dead spots guide explains the options.
