Pixelating channels, a dead TV point in the bedroom, or an antenna that came down in the last storm: we fix free-to-air reception in Inner West homes, from Marrickville terraces to Five Dock units. We work across the rest of Sydney too.
Ring 0421 772 661 and tell us which rooms need TV and what the picture is doing. We test the signal before recommending anything, so you don't pay for an antenna you don't need.
Digital TV doesn't fade gradually the way analogue did. It works until the signal at the TV falls below a threshold, then breaks into blocks or shows "no signal". The cause is usually one of a few things: an antenna knocked off its aim by wind, water inside a corroded connector or wall plate, old cable that was never meant for digital frequencies, or a cheap splitter dividing a weak signal too many ways.
Mobile networks can interfere too. After the 700 MHz spectrum was handed to 4G and 5G, some older antennas and masthead amplifiers started picking up mobile signals that swamp the TV channels. A filter or a modern antenna normally sorts that out.
Every job starts with a signal meter reading on the roof and at the wall plates. That tells us whether the problem is the antenna, the cable or the distribution, and stops guesswork.
Sized and aimed for your street, mounted to a sound fixing point, with weatherproof connections.
New outlets in bedrooms, studies or the back room, run through the ceiling or under the floor where the house allows.
Old flat or thin cable swapped for quad-shield RG6, which copes with today's frequencies and resists interference.
A properly rated splitter, or a distribution amplifier when several TVs share one antenna.
A power point behind a wall-mounted TV, done by the same licensed electrician.
LTE/5G filters where a nearby tower is upsetting reception.
Many Inner West terraces have steep, narrow roofs and party walls, so we plan the antenna position and the cable route before anyone goes up. In older houses the cleanest path is often down a wall cavity on the shared wall or through the subfloor, rather than surface-mounted conduit across the facade.
In apartment blocks the antenna usually belongs to the building (a MATV system) and is strata property. We can add or repair points in your unit, but changes to the shared antenna or the riser need the strata manager's approval first. We'll tell you which side of that line your problem sits.
Roof work follows safe work-at-height practice, and we won't climb a roof that isn't safe in the weather. TV coax isn't mains wiring, but any new power point is installed and tested to AS/NZS 3000, and we keep TV cabling separated from power cables inside walls. You get a tidy finish, signal levels checked at each outlet, and our lifetime workmanship warranty on the installation.
Often it's the cable or a corroded connector rather than the antenna. We measure the signal at the antenna and at each wall plate first, then tell you which part is failing.
Different channels broadcast on different frequencies. A misaligned antenna, a worn cable or mobile interference can affect some frequencies more than others.
Yes. We run new coax from the existing antenna or splitter to the new room and fit a wall plate, using a distribution amplifier if the signal needs it.
We can work on the points and cabling in your unit. The shared antenna and risers are strata property, so changes there need strata approval first.
Yes. The Inner West is our main area, and we install antennas and TV points across Sydney.
