Haier split systems are a popular value option for bedrooms, studies and smaller living areas. Each one still needs a proper hard-wired connection, and that's the part we install as licensed electricians.

Haier is a large appliance maker whose split system air conditioners are sold widely in Australia. Buying a unit is the easy part; getting it installed involves a refrigeration technician for the units and refrigerant, and an electrician for the power.
We look after the power. That means checking your switchboard, running a dedicated circuit, fitting an isolator by the outdoor unit and testing the installation. Refrigerant handling needs an ARC licence and stays with your air conditioning installer.
Blue Link Electrical is a licensed electrician based in Hurlstone Park (NSW Contractor Licence 332956C). We often wire several splits in one house, which is where switchboard capacity becomes the real question.
Haier's range is centred on wall-mounted reverse-cycle splits in a spread of sizes. Because they're affordable, people often put one in each bedroom plus the living room. Each unit is modest on its own, but three or four of them together, running on a hot evening alongside the oven and hot water, add up.
So beyond sizing each circuit from its installation manual, we look at the whole house: how many spare positions are on the board, what the main supply can carry, and whether a switchboard upgrade makes more sense than squeezing in extra circuits. You get that assessment before any work starts.
Each fixed split normally gets its own circuit. Read more in our dedicated circuit guide.
An outdoor-rated isolating switch beside every condenser.
Breaker rating and safety switch protection as the unit's manual recommends, usually as an RCBO.
Several units together can stretch an older supply. We check the total, not just one circuit.
Room for multiple new devices, or a board upgrade where there isn't.
1. Count the load. We note each Haier unit, its manual's supply requirement, and your switchboard and supply.
2. Run the circuits. One circuit per system, with protection installed at the board.
3. Isolators and connection. Each outdoor unit gets its isolator and supply connection. The refrigeration technician commissions the units.
4. Test. Every circuit tested to AS/NZS 3000; a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work is issued.
Several splits plus cooking and hot water at peak times can be too much for an older supply. Load planning or an upgrade sorts it.
We check the circuit, isolator and protection. Faults inside the unit go to Haier's service network.
Cheaper or older isolators degrade faster in direct sun. A cracked cover lets water in and trips the RCD.
Two splits on one circuit often trip together on hot days. Separate circuits solve it.
Generally each fixed system should have its own circuit, as specified in its manual. Sharing commonly leads to trips.
No. An ARC-licensed refrigeration technician installs the units and handles refrigerant. We do the electrical side.
Possibly. We check spare positions and supply capacity, and tell you if an upgrade is the better path.
