Eaton is a large international power management company, and its circuit protection gear turns up in Australian homes, shops and commercial buildings. We install Eaton switchboards and protection devices across the Inner West and Sydney.

Eaton isn't the first name most homeowners think of for a switchboard, so people asking for it usually have a reason: the existing board is Eaton, a builder has specified it, or they work with Eaton gear in their own industry and trust it. All of those are fine reasons, and the installation follows the same standards as any other quality brand.
A switchboard upgrade is often prompted by something practical rather than a brand preference: lights going off with the safety switch every time it rains, an insurer or buyer's inspector flagging an old board, or a renovation that needs more circuits. We work out what the property needs first, then build it with the brand you've chosen.
Blue Link Electrical is a licensed electrician based in Hurlstone Park, holding NSW Contractor Licence 332956C. We install, test and certify switchboards for houses, units and small commercial premises.
The parts list for an Eaton board covers the enclosure, main switch, circuit breakers, safety switch protection and anything extra such as surge protection or a contactor for off-peak hot water. Off-peak hot water is worth mentioning because many older Inner West homes still have it, and the controlled-load arrangement has to be carried over correctly to the new board.
We select Eaton components that suit each other and your supply, and list them in the quote. We won't promise a specific part number until we've seen the job, because what fits depends on space, loads and what's currently available.
Off-peak hot water or slab heating circuits need to be identified and reconnected so they stay on the correct tariff.
We check consumer mains and total load, especially if adding air conditioning or an EV charger.
Planned per circuit so a single fault doesn't knock out the whole house.
Enclosure size, mounting surface and access all checked so the board can be safely worked on later.
Insulation testing before change-over, because moisture-affected circuits are a common cause of trips after an upgrade.
1. Check. We inspect the board, meter arrangement, earth and circuits, and identify any controlled-load or special circuits.
2. Quote. A written quote with the protection scheme for each circuit and what's included.
3. Change-over. Supply isolated, old board removed, Eaton board installed, circuits terminated and labelled. Controlled-load wiring reconnected as before.
4. Test and document. Circuits tested, RCDs trip-tested, and a CCEW issued. See our RCBO switchboard job in Newtown for an example of a finished board (brand not specified).
Water getting into outdoor fittings or underground cable. See power tripping when it rains.
A controlled-load circuit wired incorrectly. We check this carefully during change-over.
Too many appliances on one circuit. A new board is a chance to split kitchen and laundry loads.
Old boards often fail a pre-purchase or insurance inspection. We can quote straight from the report.
Yes, it's an established manufacturer. Like any brand, the result depends on how well the board is planned and installed.
Yes. We identify the controlled-load circuit and reconnect it so it keeps running on the correct tariff arrangement.
Yes. Send us the report and photos, and we'll quote the work it calls for.
Yes, for shops, offices and similar small premises, including work outside business hours.
No. We're a licensed electrician (NSW 332956C) who installs Eaton equipment, not a manufacturer-affiliated installer.
