Westmead, 2145, is home to one of Sydney's largest hospital and medical research precincts, mostly within the City of Parramatta. The residential streets around it are a blend of post-war brick and fibro homes, walk-up flats from the 1960s and 70s, and newer apartment blocks, with a high share of rental properties.

Rental properties

With so many tenants, much of our work in Westmead is for landlords and agents. That includes smoke alarm replacements, repairs to failed lights and outlets, fault finding on tripping circuits, and making sure every circuit has safety switch protection. We arrange access with tenants and report back to the agent with photos.

Older homes and flats

Post-war houses and early unit blocks commonly still have outdated boards and original wiring. A switchboard upgrade is often the first job, with rewiring recommended for circuits where the insulation has broken down.

In older walk-ups, each flat's board may be in a shared meter room. We work with the owners corporation where common property is involved.

How it works

We quote in writing, test every circuit we work on, and issue compliance certificates where needed. For shift workers at the hospitals, we can book visits at times that suit irregular rosters, and for tenanted homes we keep the agent informed from booking through to completion. Questions about supply are coordinated with the local network operator.
