Alexandria
ElectricianSwitchboards, Safety Switches & EV

Alexandria, in the City of Sydney and on the Ausgrid network, has changed from an industrial district into a mix of warehouses, creative offices, showrooms, gyms, cafes, new apartment blocks and rows of older workers' terraces. That makes it one of the more varied areas we work in.

Businesses and converted warehouses

Many former factories now house tenants that need very different power from the original occupant. Fit-outs often involve new distribution boards, three-phase circuits for equipment, high-bay or track lighting, data cabling and exit signs. Our fit-out planning guide covers what to sort out before the builder starts.

Ongoing obligations matter too. We carry out emergency lighting testing, test and tag and general commercial electrical work.

Terraces and apartments

The older terraces are usually narrow, with switchboards at the front door and wiring that has been altered by several owners. Upgrading the board, adding RCD protection and replacing old cable are typical. In apartment buildings the requests are more often lighting, extra power points and EV charging in the basement, which needs body corporate approval. Warehouse-style lofts bring their own issues, such as exposed conduit, very high ceilings and limited places to hide cable, so lighting changes there take some planning.

How we quote

For commercial work, a floor plan and a list of equipment lets us price accurately and avoid surprises. For homes, a photo of the meter board is enough to start. We work around trading hours where needed, test everything before handover and lodge certificates for notifiable work. Ring 0421 772 661 to discuss your Alexandria project.
