Pyrmont is a dense harbourside peninsula in the City of Sydney, on the Ausgrid network. Former wool stores and warehouses have been converted to apartments and offices, sitting beside modern residential towers, a few rows of nineteenth-century workers' cottages and terraces, and a large commercial and media precinct.

Converted buildings have exposed brick, timber beams and concrete slabs that make running cable tricky. Surface conduit, track lighting and careful planning are often the neatest answers. Lighting upgrades are popular because high ceilings and exposed structure suit feature fittings.
