Evnex is a New Zealand-designed smart charger brand that has become a familiar name on both sides of the Tasman. We install Evnex chargers for homes and small businesses across the Inner West and Sydney.

Evnex designs its chargers around local conditions in New Zealand and Australia, which share similar electrical standards and the Type 2 connector. Its chargers are connected devices: you manage them through an app, set charging schedules to suit off-peak tariffs, and on supported setups use solar or load-aware charging. Evnex also targets fleets, so its chargers support remote management for businesses with several vehicles.
From the electrician's side, an Evnex install has the same fundamentals as any wall charger: its own circuit, suitable protection, a sturdy mount and a cable route that won't be damaged. Where it differs is the connectivity. Evnex's smart features rely on the charger staying online, so we pay attention to Wi-Fi or other network options at the parking spot.
Blue Link Electrical is a licensed electrician based in Hurlstone Park (NSW Contractor Licence 332956C), installing chargers since 2016. We're independent of Evnex and install the unit you've chosen.
Evnex sells home chargers and commercial or fleet-focused chargers, with options that vary in connectivity, cable type and smart features. Rather than rely on a summary that might be out of date, check Evnex's current Australian range and the installation manual for your chosen model; the manual states the supply and circuit protection it needs.
If you want solar-aware or load-aware charging, check which accessories your model needs, such as a current clamp at the switchboard, and allow for that in the installation. Single-phase models suit most Inner West homes. If you have more than one EV or run a small fleet from home, ask about sharing capacity between chargers before you commit.
Run from the switchboard, sized to the charger's current and the cable length.
Room for new protection and a board in good condition. Old ceramic fuses mean an upgrade first.
Reliable Wi-Fi or another network option at the charger, since scheduling and smart features run through the app.
Solar or load-aware features may need a clamp at the main supply, wired back to the charger per Evnex's instructions.
A solid wall near the car, with outdoor cabling and fittings rated for the location.
We look at your switchboard, supply and parking spot (photos are often enough) and send a written quote covering the circuit, cable route and any switchboard work.
On installation day we fit the protection, run and fix the cable, mount the Evnex charger and connect it according to the manufacturer's installation manual. If your setup uses a current clamp, we install it at the main supply.
We set the charger's current limit for the circuit, get it online, and help you pair it with the Evnex app. A test charge with your car confirms everything works end to end.
The installation is tested to AS/NZS 3000 and you get a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work. Our EV charger installation in Lilyfield shows the standard of finish we aim for.
Usually Wi-Fi coverage or a changed router. Scheduled and smart charging depend on the connection.
Check the schedule in the app and the car's own charging settings; both can delay a session.
Points to wiring, protection type, moisture or a vehicle fault. It needs testing. See EV charger tripping the breaker.
Charging at full rate alongside big appliances can strain older supplies. Load-aware settings or a board upgrade help.
Evnex is a New Zealand company. Its chargers are sold in Australia and use the Type 2 connector common to most EVs here.
Supported setups can adjust charging around solar or household load. Check your model's documentation for what it needs.
The smart features and app need a connection. Check the manual for how your model behaves without one.
