Electrolux ovens include pyrolytic self-cleaning and steam-assisted models that work harder electrically than a basic fan oven. We connect them properly: right circuit, sound terminations, accessible isolation, and a full test.
Ring 0421 772 661 for a written quote. Send the model, a photo of where it's going and your switchboard.
Electrolux is a Swedish appliance company, and in Australia its own-brand ovens sit alongside its other brands such as Westinghouse. The Electrolux built-in range covers standard fan-forced ovens, pyrolytic ovens that clean themselves at very high temperature, ovens with steam functions, and compact ovens that can be stacked.
Pyrolytic cleaning is the feature that matters most from an electrical point of view. During a clean cycle the oven runs extremely hot for an extended period. A circuit, connection or cable that coped with ordinary baking can show its weaknesses under that sustained load, which is why we pay attention to the condition of the terminations and the cable route, not just the breaker size.
Blue Link Electrical is a licensed electrician based in Hurlstone Park (NSW Contractor Licence 332956C), working across the Inner West and Sydney. We install and wire Electrolux ovens you've bought. We don't supply them and aren't an Electrolux service agent; internal faults are for the manufacturer's service network.
When you upgrade from an older basic oven to a pyrolytic or steam model, the new appliance may have a higher rating and a different connection method. Some Electrolux ovens are supplied ready to plug in, others are designed to be hard-wired on a dedicated circuit. The installation manual spells this out, and it's worth checking before the cabinet is finished so the connection point lands in the right place.
Steam-assisted ovens use a small water reservoir filled by hand rather than a plumbed connection on most models, but check the manual for the one you choose. If you're also fitting an Electrolux induction cooktop, the oven and cooktop together can be a large load, and we'll decide whether they share a circuit or each get their own.
Outlet or dedicated circuit as the manual specifies, with cable and protection sized to the oven and the run length.
Tight, clean connections that won't overheat during long high-temperature cleaning cycles.
An isolating switch beside the oven or in the next cupboard, so it can be turned off without removing the appliance.
Kitchen circuits should be on a safety switch, preferably an individual RCBO so one appliance can't trip the whole house.
Leads and cables routed away from the oven's hot surfaces and vents, as the manual sets out.
1. Survey. We check the rating plate and manual, the switchboard and the existing kitchen circuits, and confirm whether the oven needs a new circuit or can use what's there.
2. Prepare. We install or upgrade the supply, fit the isolator and position the outlet or connection point for the cavity.
3. Connect and secure. The oven is connected to Electrolux's instructions, the lead is routed clear of heat and the appliance is fixed into the cabinet.
4. Test. We test the circuit to AS/NZS 3000 and run the oven up to temperature. Where new wiring is installed you receive a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work; see what a CCEW is.
A weak connection, an undersized circuit or an element fault can show up under sustained heat. We test the wiring first. See oven tripping the safety switch.
Heat marks on a plug or outlet point to a poor connection or overload. Switch off and have it checked; don't keep using it.
Running both at full power on a circuit sized for one causes the breaker to trip. A circuit upgrade or separate circuits fix it.
Usually an element, thermostat or control fault for Electrolux service rather than house wiring.
Not special, but it must be correct for the oven's rating, and connections must be sound because cleaning cycles run very hot for a long time. Many pyrolytic ovens are hard-wired.
Sometimes, if the circuit is designed for the combined load. With induction, separate circuits are common. We decide from both rating plates.
Most steam-assist ovens use a hand-filled reservoir. Check the manual for your model; any plumbing is a plumber's job.
