Autel is a name many mechanics know from car diagnostic scanners, and its MaxiCharger range brings that automotive background to EV charging. We install Autel MaxiCharger AC units in homes and workplaces across the Inner West and Sydney.

Autel's MaxiCharger line includes AC chargers for homes and businesses and much larger DC fast chargers for public sites. For a house or small business, it's the AC wallbox models that matter. They're typically recognisable by a screen on the front, and they're controlled through Autel's charging app, with options for scheduling, user access and connection to third-party management platforms on commercial versions.
Because the MaxiCharger range spans home and commercial use, the same family name can cover quite different products. A home unit with a tethered cable is a simple install; a commercial unit with RFID, OCPP and load balancing across several chargers needs more planning around supply, data and user management.
Blue Link Electrical is a licensed electrician based in Hurlstone Park (NSW Contractor Licence 332956C). We're independent of Autel and handle the electrical side: supply assessment, circuits, protection, mounting, network setup and certification.
AC MaxiCharger versions differ in supply type (single-phase or three-phase), cable or socket, and features such as RFID authorisation, energy metering and OCPP connectivity. The installation manual for your version spells out the supply and protection it needs, so check that it matches your property before buying, particularly the phase arrangement.
If you're a business owner thinking about charging for staff or customers, the main decisions are about management rather than hardware: who can charge, whether you need to track or bill usage, and how chargers share the site's supply. Autel's commercial features support this, but the building's electrical capacity sets the limits.
Single-phase versions for single-phase homes, three-phase where it's available and the car can use it.
Each MaxiCharger gets its own circuit, cable and protection sized to its rating and run length.
Type and rating per Autel's manual and AS/NZS 3000. Our RCD vs RCBO guide explains the options.
Wi-Fi, Ethernet or mobile data for app and OCPP features. Commercial sites usually benefit from a cabled connection.
Essential for multi-charger sites, and worth doing at home if you also run ducted air or electric hot water.
Plan. We confirm the MaxiCharger version, check the switchboard and supply, and agree the charger location and cable route. For businesses, we also confirm how many chargers are planned and how they'll be managed.
Wire. We install the protection, run power and, if needed, data cable, mount the charger and terminate it to Autel's instructions.
Set up. We set the charger's current limit, connect it to Wi-Fi or Ethernet, pair it with the Autel app or enter the OCPP details you provide, and run a test charge.
Certify. Full testing to AS/NZS 3000 and a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work. Our Lilyfield EV charger job is a good example of a tidy home installation.
The message or code points to the category. Look it up in Autel's documentation; supply-related faults are ours to test, internal faults go to Autel.
Network credentials, coverage or account pairing are the usual causes, not the wiring.
Needs testing of the circuit, protection, charger and car. See EV charger tripping the breaker.
Check the current limit, the app's schedule and the car's own limit. A low limit set at commissioning is common.
