Rosebery was laid out from 1912 as a model garden suburb, and streets such as Hayes Road and Dalmeny Avenue still show that plan: detached brick and weatherboard bungalows on regular blocks with front gardens. In the old industrial pockets, factories have given way to apartment buildings, design showrooms and cafes. Botany Road and Gardeners Road carry the traffic, and Turruwul Park is the local green space. Green Square and Zetland sit just to the north.

The original Rosebery bungalows usually have a small meter board on the front verandah or side wall, sometimes still with rewireable fuses.
